How to Apply for
Manager Jobs
Applying for a job is one thing, but applying for a
manager’s job is a completely different one. Basic
jobs require potential employees to send in details
about themselves, with a short interview. The process
to land a managers job is much more complicated and
is usually a much more vigorous process.
The first step to getting yourself a managers job
is finding the job openings. A lot of the quality jobs
are either listed on company websites, or on job searching
portals. The initial phase will usually involve submitting
a resume and waiting to be screened. This means they
will wait for a range of applicants to apply and shortlist
the best ones.
After the initial screening, all applicants will be
invited to take part in an interview. This is usually
a fairly basic 15-20 minute interview and will give
an overview of the company. It gives the employer a
chance to get to know the person and get to understand
why they want the position so much. On the other hand
it also offers you the chance to see whether this company
is actually the right one for you’re to work for!
It is important that you stress how much experience
you have in the particular industry. It is also important
that you ensure the employer knows exactly what you
would be doing as a manager.
omeone without will power, pride in their work, good
social or even good managerial skills is simply not
going to be suited to the job! Explain why you fit the
job profile and experiences in past work places that
have led to your success. Make sure that the employer
knows you are not to ‘self-involved’ and
that you are always willing to learn!
They will usually shortlist the interviewed candidates
again and arrange a second interview. This is where
the vigorous process starts. You’ll be asked a
range of questions related to the industry, products
and services. In fact, a lot of the time employers will
jump right in at the deep end and allow you to complete
some kind of trial. This could be as long as a whole
day.
From this point onwards there will be only one employee.
If you managed to get to this stage then you have done
well, but the final hurdle is getting the phone call
to say you have the job! Good luck finding a job!
